The pictures below  were taken during a home inspection.  As you can see from the pictures, the areas I examined looked very clean, but when the test results came back from the lab of the areas that close-ups were taken, molds were identified.  Click on the individual pictures to see them close-up.

This is a clean kitchen with no mold!

Let's look a little closer.

And closer still - what's that? Mold!

From up here, it looks 'clean' ...

... but as we get closer ...

... and closer still, there is mold.

This area is nice and clean.

At least it looks clean from here.

More mold!

Looks can be deceiving!

Another clean area.

It doesn't look like there is anything bad here.

It looks very clean.

Ok, not so clean!

I wouldn't make a sandwich on this counter top!

"The pictures above were taken during a home inspection. As you can see from the pictures, the areas I examined looked very clean, but when close examination took place with a bright light, the mold was obvious.  Mold colonization was later verified in these areas through sampling and laboratory analysis. The best way to see mold colonization is to shine a BRIGHT light parallel to the surface."
